Muere en la ciudad de México, donde naciera el 13 de abril de 1793, don Francisco Ortega Martínez, notable poeta, periodista y político. Como periodista sostuvo ideas liberales; como poeta fue considerado el más puro y correcto de su generación, y como político se desempeñó cumplidamente: fue diputado en 1822 al Primer Congreso del México Independiente, donde combatió tenazmente a Iturbide

El capitán norteamericano Love, realiza la primera expedición por todo el río Bravo.

11.3.1854

Don Ignacio Comonfort, jefe de la Aduana de Acapulco, se adhiere al Plan de Ayutla del que ya conocía pormenores y situaciones, por ser promotor de él junto con don Juan N. Álvarez y Florencio Villarreal. De común acuerdo hacen algunas reformas al Plan.

11.3.1865

Después de haber sido aprehendido en la cañada de Papanzindán, Michoacán, y luego juzgado en la ciudad de México, los franceses fusilan en la plazuela de Mixcalco, al valiente guerrillero republicano Nicolás Romero, quien naciera el 6 de diciembre de 1827 en Nopala (del hoy Estado de Hidalgo). Nicolás Romero fue considerado el prototipo del guerrillero. Se inició en la lucha en defensa de las instituciones republicanas al incorporarse en 1858 a la guerrilla de Aureliano Rivera, con quien participó en la Guerra de Reforma. Al iniciarse la Intervención Francesa, se alista en las filas del general Vicente Riva Palacio y con él participa en las campañas de Michoacán, Guerrero, Querétaro y Estado de México.

Salen de territorio mexicano las últimas tropas francesas que apoyaban a Maximiliano en la guerra contra México. Con ello, Napoleón III viola los Tratados de Miramar. (Quedan fuerzas extranjeras de otras nacionalidades, inclusive francesas, pero mercenarias, o personajes adictos a Maximiliano).

11.3.1915

Al salir el total de las fuerzas constitucionalistas de la ciudad de México, con destino primero a Querétaro y luego a Guanajuato (donde se darán las batallas de Celaya del 6 y 13 de abril de 1915), las fuerzas del Ejército del Sur de Emiliano Zapata, ocupan la ciudad de México en nombre de la Convención de Aguascalientes.

11.3.1916

Don Venustiano Carranza llega a la ciudad de México, donde establece su gobierno provisional como Primer Jefe del Ejército Constitucionalista.
